13 & 14th September

I won?t bore you with these two days too much: they were mostly spent meeting old acquaintances and making some new ones, eating loads of food and drinking loads of wine as well.
A few details to put down into the diary. though.

I quickly took to the habit of a LAMPREDOTTO SANDWICH for breakfast at around 10 o?clock again, to which Luigi had introduced me when I was ?studying? in Florence. It is essential to wash it down with a glass of light white wine at the wino?s bar in the market?s central building.

Tim and Bonnie McGee, the two Canadian friends travelling to Florence, unfortunately had to decide to cancel their trip, after the attack on NY had made their flight arrangements impossible. What a shame! It would have been such a pleasure to see them again.

Whilst awaiting the other two members of the Three Pint Walking Society, and apart from eating and drinking, I was just wandering about Florence, following wherever my feet took me.

I had the vague project to do a fake investigation on my year spent at the Accademia delle Belle Arti, so when I came across it, I went in to take a few photographs.
The secretary, whose face seemed vaguely familiar to me, told me that the courses would not start before November???so much, for having some filming done in the school?.. I opened up to her and told her and told her I had studied here a long time ago. What year?, she asked. Which professor?
A guy with moustache, 1977, I believe?
Giulietti?! And don?t you remember me, she then asked??.
?I was the model for that class! Well |I?m a bit too old to do that now, obviously!
Gloria!! That fat woman that was crunching chocolate bars while lying lazily naked on some sort of bed in the middle of this huge studio, filling in her crosswords puzzles?.
I?m not a great fan of Rubens and was never a great fan of hers. This was actually, I think the only time in my life I managed to do some sketches that could have been alright for PUNCH or some other publication of that nature.
Gloria, what a name! And a living proof that one?s appearance can actually improve with age, she was!

Simon and Phil, the other two members of the 3PWS joined me in Florence with a four-hour delay on Friday evening, Ekkehard joined us in Siena on Monday.

So, I?m rather behind on my WWP (Walking web project), but I also hear that there have been some nasty viri going round and that people at work were not allowed to go onto the WWW.


I?m trying to catch up, am actually in BOLSENA Sept 22, going down to the COPISTERIA, where they promised me I could hook up to a telephone line.
